Vilnius → Kretinga (fastest rail option)
Take a direct LTG Link train to Kretinga, then a short bus or Bolt/Uber ride to Palanga.
Why Kretinga?
Kretinga is only 12 km from Palanga. Trains from Vilnius to Kretinga are often quicker than going all the way to Klaipėda, and the final transfer is cheap (bus under €1) or a quick Bolt/Uber ride.
Vilnius → Kretinga
Direct trains from Vilnius to Kretinga run several times daily. The journey takes about 4–4.5 hours. This is our recommended rail route.
Kretinga → Palanga (our apartments)
From Kretinga station, take local bus No. 60 or 61 to Palanga bus station (under €1, pay by card or cash). Bolt/Uber also available (approx. €10, 15 min).

Take the A1 motorway towards Kaunas and Klaipėda. After Klaipėda, follow the A13 coastal highway north directly to Palanga. Approx. 4 h.

Follow A13 north along the coast. Only 25 km, about 25–30 minutes.

From Riga, take the A9 south towards Liepāja, then join the P105 at Saldus and continue to the border at Ezere. In Lithuania, follow roads 163, 170, 218, 2304, and 2309 to reach Palanga. The drive takes approximately 4 hours.

Bolt / Uber / Walk
The bus station is centrally located. Bolt/Uber takes about 5 minutes (€4–5). It's also a pleasant 30-minute walk.
